Join us for the 6th annual Point Reyes National Seashore Fungus Fair! Learn about the fungi of the Point Reyes National Seashore. You can pore over the remarkable colors and shapes of native wild mushrooms on display. Attend a lecture on using Mushrooms for Dyes and Color, hear UC Berkeley's Dr. Tom Bruns talk about Fungal Recovery from the Mt. Vision Fire, and learn about California Fungi in the Visitor Center Auditorium.
Amateur mycologists will be on hand to talk about the Point Reyes Mycoblitz Forays, mushrooms, and their role in the environment. Learn more about the Bay Area Mycological Society activities, scientific and educational mission.
Collect fungi for the fair! Join local mushroom walks on Saturday, February 12th. Meet at the Bear Valley Visitor Center at 10:00 am. Bring your finds to the Red Barn at 1:00 pm. for identification. Park visitors and local residents are welcome to participate!
